Wife to an Excellent Man.
Mom of two diamonds-in-the-rough.
Assistant to two Shepherds.
Sharer of hope, ideas, camaraderie.
I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. Moved around quite a bit, but landed in Omaha, Nebraska. Yea, I had to look that up on the map too. After some rough roads, I am now married to an Excellent Man whom I am so grateful for. I don’t want to sound too gushy here, but it’s really awesome being married to him. Sometimes I just can’t believe I walked into this deal! My two sons have been on their own for a few years now. And I’m so proud of them for that. I still worry about them. And wish I could stop. I’ve been on staff at one of the larger local churches for about 14 years. I am constantly amazed at how hard the work is and how much my co-workers love and care for people, including me.
For a few years now, I’ve shared my stories with audiences of parents, single women and mothers of young children. I parented alone for 8 years and walked my then teenage sons through the tragic death of their father. I worked really hard to have a healthy single life and navigated through dating the second time around. I learned more about being a healthy single woman from the man I would marry. An Excellent Man, I call him. Because he is. Not perfect. But excellent. I’m so passionate about helping people experience paradigm shifts in their thinking about parenting, divorce, rough chapters, being single and dating again. Although I’d love to tell you that I prayed real hard and things worked out the way I wanted them to, that’s not my story, for sure. My stories might be a bit raw. But they are real. I hope to offer a bond through suffering, a few ideas and a spotlight into God’s hand of hope.
